Froude-Krylov Scaling The Froude-Krylov force is related to the undisturbed pressure field and is part of Morison’s Generalized Equation. Froude-Krylov scaling is an input parameter that scales the Froude-Krylov force contribution, and is only available for Morison’s Generalized Equation and Potential Flow. Morison’s Generalized Equation The Froude-Krylov force is built into the formulation. The scaling parameter can be used to adjust or disable the contribution if needed. Potential Flow with Quadratic Load Coefficients The tangential loads use Morison’s formulation, which includes the Froude-Krylov contribution. If the Froude-Krylov pressure is already included in the longitudinal component of the potential theory (WAMIT) results, the Froude-Krylov scaling factor must be set to zero to avoid counting it twice.
